Terms and Conditions

Any contract of sale, order, or quotation made or accepted by The Water Filter Guy is subject to these terms and conditions of sale.

Warranty

1. Coverage
   The Water Filter Guy warrants its Whole House Water Filtration Systems, Under Sink Water Filtration Systems, Reverse Osmosis Systems, Workmanship and Components (excluding consumables) to be free from defects for a period of 12 months from the date of the original invoice issued to the original purchaser.

2. Extended Warranty
   Systems purchased from and installed by The Water Filter Guy are eligible for a conditional 4-year extended warranty, offering a total warranty period of 5 years provided the system is serviced with The Water Filter Guy within the recommended intervals (every 6-12 months, depending on usage and water quality).

3. Consumables
   Water filter cartridges & O-rings are classified as consumables and are not covered under warranty. However, they are subject to consumer law, ensuring they are accurately advertised and fit for their intended purpose.

4. Filter Cartridge Life
   Filter cartridge life is not guaranteed and may vary based on usage and water quality.

5. Warranty Applicability
   This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the product.

6. Warranty Remedy
   The Water Filter Guy’s obligations under this warranty are limited to, at its discretion, either:

   • Repair or replace the defective product, or

   • Refund the purchase price paid for the defective product.

7. Relocation
   This warranty does not cover products relocated from their original installation site unless relocation was carried out by The Water Filter Guy.

8. Ownership of Replaced Parts
   Any parts replaced or exchanged under this warranty become the property of The Water Filter Guy.

9. Proper Installation and Use
   The warranty applies only if the product has been properly installed, maintained, and used for its intended purpose, strictly following The Water Filter Guy's recommendations and installation guide.

10. Modification
    Warranty does not apply to modified products unless modifications were approved by The Water Filter Guy.

11. Exclusions
    This warranty excludes:

• Normal wear and tear,

• Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or vandalism,

• Malfunctions resulting from neglect or unauthorized parts/accessories,

• Damage due to water pressure exceeding 500 kPa,

• Damage caused by rain, fire, earthquakes, or other natural causes.

1. Limitation of Liability
   This warranty is the buyer's sole remedy. The Water Filter Guy will not be liable for any costs, losses, damages, or expenses, including special, incidental, or consequential damages, arising from the use or repair of the product.

2. Consumer Rights
   Under applicable law, you may be entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to meet acceptable quality standards, as long as the failure does not constitute a major fault.

3. Legal Rights
   All implied conditions and warranties are expressly excluded where allowed by law.

 

Rights Forfeited

The buyer forfeits any warranty rights or claims against The Water Filter Guy if any of the following conditions are met:

1. High Water Temperature
   The system is operated with water temperature higher than 38° Celsius.

2. Failure to Service
   The system is not serviced every 12 months, including filter replacements, PLV checks, and general condition assessments. If the water quality is poor, the system should be serviced before the 12-month period.

3. Damage from Water Hammer or Freezing
   Damage caused by water hammer, freezing, or neglect.

4. Excess Water Pressure
   The system is exposed to water pressure exceeding 500 kPa.

5. Installation Requirements
   The system is not installed with an Australian Standards-approved Pressure Limiting and Dual Check Valve.

6. Improper Use or Maintenance
   The system is tampered with or not maintained or operated in accordance with The Water Filter Guy's recommendations.

7. Extended Absence
   The system is not turned off when the residents are away for over 24 hours.

Referral Discount Terms & Conditions:

• You will receive a 50% discount on your next service for each successful referral of a new system installation.

• The referral discount applies only to systems valued at or above the advertised price of your own system.

• If the referred system is priced lower than yours, you will receive a 50% discount on the service value of the referred system for your next service.

• The discount is valid for 6-12 month servicing only.

• Referral discounts are non-transferable.
